Xiaogang Guo

Dr. Xiaogang Guo is currently an associate Professor in the Institute of Advanced Structure Technology at Being Institute of Technology (BIT). He has received B.S degree in mechanical engineering in 2010, and a Ph.D. degree in solid mechanics in 2016 from Harbin Engineering University. He also as a visiting scholar in Northwesten University from 2014 to 2015 and worked at Tsinghua University as a post-doc from 2016 to 2018. He joined BIT in 2019.

Since 2010, he had rich experiences of research collaborations with three top groups, Prof. Jinsong Leng at Harbin Institute of Technology (2012-2016), Prof. Yonggang Huang at Northwestern University (2014-2015), Prof. Yihui Zhang at Tsinghua University (2016-2018).

He is interested in developing design strategies for advanced materials and structures with tunable properties. As the first/co-first author or corresponding author, he has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in highly prestigious materials/mechanics journals, such as Science Robotic, Advanced Materials (3 times), Advanced Functional Materials, NPG Asia Materials, npj Flexible Electronics (twice), Composites Science & Technology, ACS AMI, NPG Asia Materials, Smart materials and structures (twice), Extreme Mechanics Letters, etc.

He now serves as the associate editor of Programmable Materials (Cambridge Press), and has been awarded the Supporting Program of Young Scholars from China Association for Science and Technology (2019).

He was also awarded the Young Changjiang Scholar in 2024.
